About
I'm Ante Borzić, a senior full-stack engineer in Split, Croatia. I've been building for the web for thirteen years, and the part I still enjoy most is the moment a tangled system starts to make sense.
Eleven of those years were at the Croatian arm of Studion, a US company called Extension Engine for most of the time I was there. It builds learning and life sciences software for universities, nonprofits and companies. I joined writing features and left leading the team that shipped them, which taught me that most of the job is planning, reviewing each other's code, and getting a product from an empty repository to production without anyone losing sleep.
In mid-2024 I went independent and set up Ant Hive d.o.o., so companies and agencies across Europe can bring me in on a B2B contract.
Most of my work now sits where a customer-facing app meets the systems behind it: storefronts on Nuxt and SCAYLE, the loyalty and payment systems behind them, and the Salesforce integrations that keep both sides telling the same story. Along the way I've led engineering on a Web3 funding platform, built course sales that enrol students straight into Canvas LMS, and owned backend services in NestJS and gRPC.
I build to WCAG AA by default, I like boring deploys, and I write things down so the next person doesn't have to guess. This site is where I write them down in public.
